Wellnessland has such an amazing vegan restaurant that it deserves it’s own post. It really does. During my month at Wellnessland Health Institute as their Visiting Healing Arts Practitioner, I was well-fed. I was served delicious Filipino cuisine, with a vegan twist. It’s all about whole-food and simple ingredients that leave you wondering: how could that be so delicious?
I definitely spent some time in the kitchen finding out for myself!
The girls in the kitchen took such good care of me and we spent hours chopping garlic, stirring sauces, and laughing together. They taught me how to make samosas, dumplings, and steamed buns! And when I say they taught me, I mean we sat together and made 200 samosas at once, these girls sure know how to cook!
I also learned how to make vegan mayonnaise, homemade BBQ sauce, and salad dressings, along with other traditional dishes Pancit Canton and Kangkong. Pancit Canton is a very popular Filipino dish that is similar to chow mein, and Kangkong is similar to sautéed spinach.
The menu at Wellnessland Vegan Cafe is full of options for the picky eaters like vegan burgers, and BBQ skewers. They also have a bakery aspect to the cafe as well, and offer ube cakes, oatmeal cookies, and banana bread to name just a few.
I would also like to mention how incredibly affordable Wellnessland Vegan Cafe is. Most meals cost less than $5, usually are out the $3 mark. These are the kinds of meals you’d normally pay between $15-$20 for back in the USA. And I got to eat this delicious, amazing, wholesome food every single day – talk about lucky!
The Wellnessland Vegan Cafe also serves as a shop and has hard-to-find products like vegan soaps and vegan ice cream.
